- Got a ride from my Dad this morning at 7:00 am to the Wonders of the World Food Distribution event.
- I Helped set-up long tables around the food pallets( that were placed in the lot before I arrived at the event.)
- Set large empty fruit boxes/ banana boxes out on the east and west row of tables
- On each row of tables were placed 2 rows of boxes
- Assisted in tearing boxes for cardboard boxes for cardboard sheet to cover hole in boxes
- A volunteer had me assist them in making sure there were an equal amount of apple boxes on the south end of both the west and east rows of tables.
- Around this time Mrs. Carolyn Gray instructed me to place boxes on the ground underneath the table and to place another large fruit box on top of them (2-3 for each table for the row of 5-7 tables).
- Allowing us 10-15 extra empty boxes on top of what we had on top of the tables.
- Placed can goods in boxes
- While starting to make the vegetable bags another volunteer showed up and started placing the vegetable bags in boxes,
- the volunteer than started making vegetable bags and I instructed them as I had been instructed that in each bag was to be placed 2 zucchini, 3 bell peppers, and 4 tomatoes.
- While the food distribution box making process was completed a long line of cars had gathered and I later learned wrist bands were given to the drivers of each car to signify the amount of food distribution boxes for each family/car.
- After the boxes on the east row of tables were filled and ready for distribution at around 10:30am the pastor called the group for a speech/sermon.
- After the speech/sermon, I was instructed by Mrs. Carolyn Gray, to put on my BRACE CERT Reflective vest while handing out food distribution boxes and participating in directing the cars as the pulled along side the tables
- After all the food distribution boxes and been placed in all the cars in the line
- I proceed to assist some the volunteers; who had been breaking down boxes during the event; in breaking down the rest of the large empty boxes
- I asked for and received the email address of Vincent & Monique Dicken (who I believe to be the Owners of the Wonders of the word Ministries), and gave them my own. I am planning to send them an email thanking them for putting on the event and for allowing me to participate in the event as a BRACE CERT volunteer.
- The Event ended little late at around 11:00-11:30am and I stayed around to help clean up.
- I ended up being there until 11:30 or 11:45 and Wonders of the world allowed me to take a few boxes of fruit to donate to the waterfront rescue mission and the people outside of the fence of the waterfront rescue mission building of whom most i recognized from the opening Doors of NWFL point-in-time count event.
- My Dad gave me a ride from the Wonders of the world event up to the Waterfront Rescue Mission where I handed out a few bags of apples, half a box of oranges, a few bell peppers, and tomatoes to the people waiting on the street and donated about 1/2-3/4 box of tomatoes to the Waterfront rescue mission kitchen.
- My dad gave me a ride home from the waterfront rescue mission after donating the food from Wonders of The Word Ministries.
