Meeting attendees: John Thomas Winskas, Brad, Johnny, Gabe (other Offentsive members), Tammy from Opening Doors of NWFL; I apologize if I don't remember their names, I'm sure I'll remember their names if/when we continue to work together.


Training notes 
Initial Meeting; 03/04/2025 10:00am to 12:00pm
My father gave me a ride from home to the Offentsive building at 2211 W Fairfield Dr., Pensacola, FL. around 9:30am. 
-I asked if Offentsive had any business cards and Brad handed me a few as he mentioned he had some made last night.  
-The Offentsive team built sandwiches during the beginning of the meeting; I helped build a few sandwiches.
-Brad handed me an Offentsive training guide, and the Offentisive staff reviewed the training worksheet during the meeting.
-The offentsive team mentioned that for street outreach It was important to work in pairs and groups and to avoid working alone.
-Discussed strategies for approaching homeless people,
-stressed the importance of building relationships with the homeless or addicts so they might be willing to accept help (food, drug kits, etc.).
-Offentsive team stressed not to enter homeless peoples tents
-an offentsive team member mentioned the offentsive street outreach team have experience handling many people that are Schizophrenic, or who may cuss or yell at team members.
-Discussed when it is appropriate to call for the Lakeview mobile response team.
-Brad mentioned that the lakeview mobile response team may be a bridge from volunteers to the police or bakeracting.
-It was mentioned that the lakeview mobile response team is trained in psychiatric evaluation
-I asked if the Lakeview mobile response Team also handled any medical problems or if they are only to be 
-Tammy gave an example of a time when A homeless person was injured and needed to be taken to hospital.
-Discussed other resources; Brad mentioned 911 is always an option;
-One of the volunteers showed a Narcan demonstration.
-Brad handed out multiple boxes of Narcan
-We discussed the drug aid kits, crack, methamphetamine, & Fentanyl.
-The Difference between the paraphernalia (used) and crack, methamphetamine & Fentanyl Kits (clean).
-Brad mentioned there is a staff member that handles inventory of the drug aid kits. 
-Talked about working with Tammy & Opening Doors of NWFL (I recently applied for a membership at Opening Doors of NWFL).(Tammy of Opening Doors of NWFL left for a meeting she was late to around 12:00pm).
-After Tammy left I asked how much longer the meeting was going to last. They suggested the street outreach would last for an hour or hour and a half.
-My ride/father was waiting outside the Offentsive building (I told him the meeting  portion of the Offentsive meeting that was set to last  1 hour until 11:00 am; lasted 2 hours until 12:00pm and that the Offentsive Street outreach portion of the training would last another hour). My Father mentioned he would return at around 2:00 after the offentsive street outreach training was completed.
-I rode to the street outreach training in Brads truck, along with Johnny, and another woman volunteer.

-Brad showed a demonstration of how to safely hand out a drug kit to homeless people.
-Tried to introduce myself to a homeless person's dog.
-Other volunteers  taught how to call out to homeless peoples tents.
-Asked one of the woman volunteers (wearing red) if there was what the next offentsive event was; she mentioned if I gave her my email that she would email me information about upcoming Offentsive Events, outreach training ect.- I gave her my Johntwinskas@gmail.com email.
-Watched volunteers hand out sandwiches to homeless camped out.
-A Sheriff pulled up as we were leaving and informed us that there was a woman who filed a complaint against the homeless in that area and that the Offentsive team's cars might be blocking the street.
-The woman was complaining to the Offentsive team about the trash/ cleanliness of the area.
-Brad showed tact in handling the situation, mentioning the offentsive team was just there to feed them.
-The Sheriff mentioned something else but I am not able to remember his exact words.
-The group left the railroad track area and arrived 

-After returning to the Offentsive building after the street outreach training 03/04/2025 1:30PM-2:00PM.
-Discussed with Brad if it was ok that I signed up as a volunteer on the Offentsive website using the Offentsive telephone number a my number on the sign-up form; (As I currently o not had phone)(my johntwinskas@gmail.com email is the best contact I have).
-Asked if the Offentsive team had ever worked with BRACE or if any of the Offentsive team might be interested in BRACE CERT Volunteering.
-Mentioned I will email BRACE CEO Dr. Nick Jackson: to see if there are any resources or collaboration that could result from the organizations working together.
-Asked about Offensives' disaster/ or experience with bad weather,
-Asked if Offentsive had a disaster plan- (and will ask this in email with BRACE).
-I suggested Offentsive may be able to help BRACE CERT in a disaster scenario with food or supply distribution similar to the one I participated in on March 1st. at the Wonders of the Word charity food event.
-I asked about the sign-up process for if a woman who wanted to camp at the shelter needed to escape a bad situation. (Maybe I misheard but the answer was unclear.)
-I asked about if a woman who was in an emergency situation could knock on the Offentsive door would they be offered shelter (the answer here was a little unclear).
-Johnny mentioned he drives a tow truck (he gave an example of how he has helped someone in a bad situation)
-Johnny mentioned he had a Towtruck business card. I asked for a second business card just in case someone ever needed it.  
-My father/ride arrived around 2:00pm and I went home with him.
