  • Took bus to Regions bank & 9 mile rd.
  • Walked to Escambia Search & Rescue Building for meeting
  • Greeted at the door
  • Talked to Jeremy about land operations & volunteer/mission opportunities and gave him a paper copy of my ESAR application that I also emailed, he mentioned he would start my background check ASAP. Also confirmed with Jeremy that a misdemeanor should be ok. 
  • Talked to Johnny (Interim Team Leader/Commander of ESAR Comms), (Got Johnny's phone number).
  • Gave my ID to Land operations/IT member for them to copy/scan for my application.
  • Joined ESAR Telegram Group
  • Johnny offered to give me a ride home and was able to tell me about ESAR Comms capabilities and roles during missions.
I look forward to continuing to learn more about Escambia Search And Rescue, and what volunteer opportunities there are with the ESAR organization.

Volunteered and tabled the American Red Cross Tent, alongside Terri Jenkins, Duke Pruitt and Laura Pruitt at the NWFL FPL Community Storm Expo & Touch-a-Truck event at  FPL, 1 Energy Pl, Pensacola, FL 32520. Handed out close to 40 American Red Cross posters, hurricane preparedness packets (hurricane kit preparedness facemasks, Soap, & pens). The table had information on the American Red Cross Free Fire Alarm installation program (in partner-ship with the Local fire departments), volunteer sign-up information sheets, upcoming Veteran support information sessions, and upcoming CPR & First aid training from the American Red Cross among others.
