Attended Event: Friday, June 7th 7:30am to 1:30 pm -Wonders of the Word Ministries charity food giveaway 57th & Lyllian hwy.


  •  Preston Marvel instructed me to volunteer at the pod Wonders of the Word ministries charity food giveaway event instead of the BRACE disaster Dash.
  • Jogged to bus stop to make route 2 bus at 6:08am at Brainerd & palafox. Got to bus stop at 6:00 am; got on wrong bus to Correy station gate.
  • walked to 57th  and  n. Lyllian hwy. from Correy station gate. Arrived at Wonders of the word ministries Charity food giveaway event around 7:15am
  • Wore Brace reflective vest during event
  • Started unfolding and taping boxes
  •  Unfolded/setup tables. 
  • Unfolded boxes. Taped boxes, 
  • Emptied banana boxes for extra food boxes; 
  • placed food times, peanut butter, raisins, jelly, in boxes for charity food giveaway. 
  • Directed traffic for east line of cars; helped load yogurt/"milk", and rasberries into east line of cars if needed or was comfortable enough that the driver would remain stopped; 
  • moved empty food boxes to box trailer area to be broken down to maintain a safe environment for volunteers so they weren’t slipping on boxes; 
  • Bagged applesauce for west car line at end of the event
  • help carry boxes/ 3-4 bags of applesauce and 9 yogurts to a car for a daycare.
  • at the end of the event built charity food boxes put raisins, graham crackers, proteins, loaves of bread and bags of bread in food boxes.
  • broke down/flattened non-banana boxes after event and placed flattened boxes in recycle/box trailer- recovered as many banana boxes as i could and stacked them next to the recycle box trailer. 
  • Placed can boxes in the back of a truck for crawfish as instructed.
  • Thanked Mr Vincent & Monique Dickens.
  • Skipped bus and Walked 5.5 miles home (12:00-3:30pm); Lillian Hwy & 57Th, West Pensacola, FL 32506, USA to 1517 E. Lloyd st. Pensacola, FL, 32503.
I look forward to continuing to volunteer with/for BRACE CERT at Wonders of the Word Ministries charity food giveaway events!

I might have to head Preston and Robin's warning and disinvite myself from the "Her-icane" training at the escambia county public safety building. John Thomas Winskas Volunteered at  Event : Volunteered at Event:  Saturday, June 14⋅8:00am – 12:30pm, American Red Cross NWFL FPL Community Storm Expo & Touch-a-Truck Saturday, - FPL, 1 Energy Pl, Pensacola, FL 32520. Volunteered and tabled the American Red Cross Tent, alongside Terri Jenkins, Duke Pruitt and Laura Pruitt at the NWFL FPL Community Storm Expo & Touch-a-Truck event at  FPL, 1 Energy Pl, Pensacola, FL 32520. Handed out close to 40 American Red Cross posters, hurricane preparedness packets (hurricane kit preparedness facemasks, Soap, & pens). The table had information on the American Red Cross Free Fire Alarm installation program (in partner-ship with the Local fire departments), volunteer sign-up information sheets, upcoming Veteran support information sessions, and upcoming CPR & First aid training from the American Red Cross among others.
