Event summary:
Got a ride from my Dad to the Pensacola NWFL American Red Cross building at 9111 sturdevant street at 9:30 am and arrived at 10:00am
Volunteering for American Red Cross-PNS HFC installs: Knocked on a few doors and handed out a few Fire alarms with Pensacola NWFL chapter of the American Red Cross; There was a bit of drama; I may have accidentally misread the directions on the American Red Cross fire alarms and accidentally switched 5 of the American Red Cross Fire Alarms into the off position before giving the fire alarms to the client (Once again I apologize Angela- I take this kind of mistake very seriously, and even though, I know you said you were able to switch the American Red Cross Fire Alarms back to the on position-,because I wasn't able to go back out there and see that the fire alarms are in the correct on position myself, i am still a bit worried because I do not like not being able to be there in person to verify for myself that your family is safe). I hope that you and yours have made sure/were able to switch the fire alarms back into the on position after I notified you and both my managers of the error- ( my reasoning was that if the fire alarms were in the off position the test wouldn't have worked).
I didn't become aware of the my misreading the directions on the American Red Cross Fire Alarms until I was assisting another customer and figured out the alarm test worked in both the on and off switch positions.
I hope Angela and her family sleep safely, as I would not forgive myself if anything were happen due to an error on my behalf while assisting the American Red Cross in what I view as a critically important job, Peoples lives depend on the those fire alarms warning them and waking them up and I will continue to take my job/role seriously as an American Red Cross Volunteer!
I look forward to continuing to serve the community and assist the Pensacola NWFL American Red Cross as a Volunteer!
