Saturday, July 19th⋅1:30am – 7:00pm, ESAR, Pilots appreciation dinner, 9530 Nims Ln, Pensacola, FL

  • Got a ride from Kelly Banks from the American Red Cross Shelter Simulation at the Milton Community Center to the ESAR building.
    • Arrived at around 1:30pm
  • Jim was cooking for the event
    • ate a turkey sausage and had a burger patty along with simon.
  • Brought around 30 strawberry muffins that I baked for the Pilots appreciation dinner
    • put the strawberry muffins in the kitchen refrigerator. 
  • listened to jim's wife talk for a while she prepped (deseeded) the water melon and met the care taker of Jim & his wife's (his wife who's name I keep forgetting) daughter.
    • gave them a strawberry muffin to try.
    • later gave them the pack of peanut butter crackers and belvita I picked up at the American Red Cross Shelter simulation in Milton.
  • Handed out bottles of water to ESAR volunteers and guests
  • Handed out the other peanutbutter cracker from the american red cross event to a mother for her daughter to snack on while waiting for the ESAR volunteers to finish cooking.
  • Helped prep the for the Pilots appreciation dinner.
    • Grabbed the box of ESAR cups from on top of the refrigerator and placed it near the coolers placing a few stacks of cup outside the coolers filled with beverages.
    • Help carry food from the grill & deep frier to the serving tables
      • Sorted the Fried fish, hush puppies, and fried shrimp into different sections of the food warmer.
      • set out the buns for guests to serve themselves during the event.
      • poured fries into the food warmer.
      • Moved/placed Sonny's bannana Pudding and my muffing from refrigerator to the serving table.
    • Found and set out serving utensils for the deserts and food along with other volunteers.
  • Ate half a piece of fried fish, 5 shrimp, 1-2 hush puppies, a small piece of cheesecake 5-8 tbs of banana pudding, 2 strawberries muffins ( 1 from each batch); 2-3 tbs vanilla & 2-3 tbs chocolate ice cream, a small brownie & 10-20 fries; & watermelon from 4:30- 6:30pm
  • Spoke with Tally and Mike about shelter ideas and other subjects.
  • Helped cleanup after the pilots appreciation dinner
    • folded and put away tables with other ESAR volunteers
    • might have stacked a few chairs at the along the wall of the room along with other ESAR volunteers
    • took a turkey sausage to take home for my father to eat.
    • took my strawberry muffins home.
    • Put away drinks from cooler into the refrigerator with the help of another ESAR volunteer.
    • dumped ice from the coolers outside the ESAR garage door.
    • Returned coolers to the serving table area
  • Got a ride home from Jim after the Pilots appreciation dinner
    • got home around 7:00pm to finish up what yardwork for my parents that I could.
