  • Transit
    • Jogged to bus stop route 45
      • bus left at around 9:30 am
    • took bus to copter rd.
    • Jogged to american Red Cross nwfl Pensacola Chapter building
      • arrived at around 10:15am
  • Changed Clothes from jogging clothes after arriving
  • put no bake 1/2 balls I brought with me in the kitchen/cafeteria for everyone to have (cloves were a bit strong in this batch). 
  • Met with Terri
    • checked to make sure ladder was still in the outside storage closet
    • moved paper from trunk of American Red Cross vehicle to supply closet storage
    • looked for APC backup battery that had gone missing in the training room bathrooms, business ops closet, and logistics closet

  • Set out signs for the Blood Drive.
  • Assisted the phlebotomy team with 
    •  Unloading the MRV.
    • Set out the drinks and snack tote on the snack/recovery table.
    • Unfolded and set up the ARC medical/blood donation beds.
    • Was instructed again in how to and assisted in setting up the blood donation machines on the sides of the medical beds.
    • moved empty carts out of the way
    • setting up chairs & moving tables
  • After setting up checked with rodger and Terri at 11:30am to see if they needed anything before the blood drive at 12:00pm

    • Helped Charles check the turn indicators and break lights of an American Red Cross vehicle (MRV?)
    • vacuumed debris from floor that fell from the ceiling (looked like a mouse or rat ate it).
  • Returned to the training room around 12:00pm for my Blood Donor Ambassador shift.
    • Joy was at the blood donor ambassador table helping to check in early donors after I came back to the training room from helping Rodger and Terri.
    • Relieved Joy of check in duties and thanked her for helping check in the early donors while I was busy helping the ARC staff and volunteers.
    • Completed blood donor ambassador shift/duties from 12:00pm to 4:00pm
  • Assisted Phlebotomy team with packing up Equipment and loading it into the MRV
    • Accidently broke an aluminum handle of the medical bed cart while pulling it up the ramp.
  • Checked outside closet to make sure it was locked before leaving.
  • Had D lock the front door behind me.
  • Got a ride home from dad.

I might have to head Preston and Robin's warning and disinvite myself from the "Her-icane" training at the escambia county public safety building. John Thomas Winskas Volunteered at  Event : Volunteered at Event:  Saturday, June 14⋅8:00am – 12:30pm, American Red Cross NWFL FPL Community Storm Expo & Touch-a-Truck Saturday, - FPL, 1 Energy Pl, Pensacola, FL 32520. Volunteered and tabled the American Red Cross Tent, alongside Terri Jenkins, Duke Pruitt and Laura Pruitt at the NWFL FPL Community Storm Expo & Touch-a-Truck event at  FPL, 1 Energy Pl, Pensacola, FL 32520. Handed out close to 40 American Red Cross posters, hurricane preparedness packets (hurricane kit preparedness facemasks, Soap, & pens). The table had information on the American Red Cross Free Fire Alarm installation program (in partner-ship with the Local fire departments), volunteer sign-up information sheets, upcoming Veteran support information sessions, and upcoming CPR & First aid training from the American Red Cross among others.
